The Tualatins were first known as the Atfalati. Artifacts from the Atfalati have been uncovered showing achievements of an early people who flourished in their way of life on a land which includes present-day Helvetia, Oregon. Camas meadows still bloom today. In the years past, camas was a staple in the Tualatin’s diet.
